"When Dementia Care Feels Hard - You're Not Alone"
A supportive and practical 90-minute workshop for care partners of people living with dementia
Welcome to DEMENTIA FRIENDLY BAKER COUNTY!
Supporting People Living with Dementia and the People Who Care for Them
Dementia Friendly Baker County (DFBC) is a local volunteer group established in 2022. It is affiliated with Dementia Friendly America and dedicated to creating a supportive, inclusive environment for individuals living with dementia and their care partners.
Our mission is simple yet powerful: to reduce stigma and create an environment where people living with dementia can thrive. We believe that every person deserves:
- Independence – the ability to live life on their own terms with appropriate levels of support
- Quality of Life – dignity, respect, and meaningful experiences
- Community Inclusion – opportunities to engage and participate fully
Dementia is not just a medical condition – it’s a community challenge. Together, we can make Baker County a place where individuals with dementia feel supported, understood, and valued. This is a shared responsibility. Families, neighbors, businesses and organizations all play a role in building a dementia-friendly community.
To accomplish our mission, we offer programs focused on:
- Education – equipping our community with knowledge and understanding
- Awareness – breaking down misconceptions and reducing stigma
- Support – providing resources and encouragement for individuals and care partners
- Meaningful Experiences – opportunities for social interaction, creative expression, and activity
Please see our Calendar of Events to learn more about our current and free educational programs, caregiver support groups, and special events.
Please join us in creating a community where everyone belongs.
Together we can make a difference.
