All programs are free and open to the public. Dementia Friendly Baker County (DFBC) offers education and support to raise awareness and help reduce stigma and create a community where people living with dementia can thrive. See our Calendar of Events.

Education & Connection Presentations

When: 4th Thursday of each month, 1:30 – 2:30 PM
Where: Family Life Center: 1250 Hughes Ln., Baker City

Join us for monthly sessions featuring local and national speakers with expertise in dementia care. These sessions aim to increase knowledge and skills for caregivers, persons with dementia, partners, professionals, and community members. Topics vary and include practical strategies to improve quality of life and independence for people living with dementia.

Care Partner Support Group

When: 1st and 3rd Wednesday of each month, 1:00 – 2:00 PM
Where: St. Luke’s conference room, 3950 17th St., Baker City

This bi-monthly group for care partner provides a safe, confidential, and non-judgmental space for care partners to share experiences, receive support, and connect with others who understand the challenges of dementia care.

No registration required—just come as you are.

Training for Long-Term Care Staff

Dementia Friendly Baker County offers specialized training for long-term care facilities, including:

  • Dementia Simulation: Empathy-building exercises to understand the sensory and cognitive changes experienced by people with dementia.
  • Positive Approach to Care® Sessions: Practical techniques for communication and care partnering.
    Training can be customized to meet your facility’s specific needs.
